Can I engrave all types of wood?
The laser works extremely well with all types of woods, from pine, bamboo, maple to exotic hardwoods. Each displays a different quality when engraved. While a maple plaque may give you a lighter engraving, cherry can give you very rich, dark colors where engraved. Trying out different woods can give you very different effects with the same image. We use and supply a few selections of 3mm ply to get you started.

Our Co'2 Epilog Laser's systems are growing in popularity in the woodworking industry as an increasing number of woodworkers are seeing the variety of products that can quickly and easily be customised with an Epilog Laser system.
Wood engraving is one of the most popular applications for the laser because it can encompass so many different products. From cabinetry to photo frames to knife handles, Wood engravings and carvings are used in almost every woodworking category you will run across.
What size of wood piece can I engrave & cut?
Our Laser systems are 800 X 500mm flat table beds with over 400mm clearance. We cut up to 5mm thick max plywood.If you can fit your product on the engraving table, you can engrave your wood item!
Is there a lot of programming involved?
Unlike CNC machines that require extensive programming, our CO2 lasers operate more like printers. Use any graphic software you like, import your image, and print it to the laser. It's incredibly easy to set up any custom job in minutes. We also still have traditional CNC available for quick deep carvings like letters and shapes this process leaves a clean unburned smooth finish.
